DESCRIPTION

A boy who lives with his aunt Mito and grandmother on Whale Island. According to Mito, Gon's parents died long ago. One day, Gon carelessly wandered into the territory of a wild animal—a fox-bear (originally Kitsune-guma), which attacked him. He was saved by a man who appeared suddenly and killed the enraged beast. The man introduced himself as Kite and said he was a Hunter. Kite told Gon that he was searching for his teacher. As it turned out, that teacher was Gon's father, Ging Freecss, one of the greatest Hunters, who, contrary to Mito's words, is alive and well. Gon decided to take the Hunter Exam and, upon becoming a Hunter, set out to find his father. Gon possesses incredibly sharp hearing, sight, and smell, which have often helped him and his friends in difficult situations. He is very naive, simple-minded, and kind, which draws people to him. His Nen type is Enhancement.
